SUFFOLK House Nursery might be a high quality learning environment for children from six months to five years old ... but it's also fun!
Parents, whose children attend nursery, want them to learn as much as they can so that when it comes to the time for “big school” they are well prepared, have had a head start and are confident enough to go out into the wider education community … the children just want to play with their friends.
At Suffolk House we take great pride in the fact that our children are closely following the Curriculum for Excellence and enjoying every minute of it in a safe, warm and stimulating environment, combining learning and play seamlessly.
Our recent full refurbishment makes Suffolk House an oasis in the city centre, with ample off-road parking to allow parents to drop off and pick up in complete safety. The children will also be able to experience our wonderful garden from Summer 2012 in what is considered by many to be Edinburgh's finest outdoor learning space.
We cater for children from all over the City, and we are open 51 weeks of the year from Monday to Friday between 8am and 6pm. We are regulated by the Care Inspectorate and Her Majesty's Inspector of Education … and like our children we always aim for top marks!
Our team of dedicated professionals are led by strong leaders which allow us to deliver a full and varied curriculum which is play based. We have a strong CPD programme and annual staff appraisals are designed to encourage staff to be aware of their strengths and weaknesses and encourage them to reach their full professional and personal potential.
All qualified staff are checked against the SSSC register and all staff have positive PVG checks carried out prior to start of employment to ensure their fitness to work with children.
